Design objective

Create a new, modern brand identity for a charity event and design all the graphics for social media and print.

Background

In May 2024 I was asked by the organisers of a local charity event to help tem create a new brand identity for their event to gice their social media a new look and attract new clients. Given the great cause and the symbolic importance of this event, I agreed to help them at no cost.

The problem

This local charity event, organised every year in memory of a departed friend, has now become a tradition in Correggio but it still stuggles to reach people outside the ones that knew the person that the event is dedicated to. I was therefore asked to help the staff create a new brand identity to communicate the message that everyone was welcome and that the event wa young and modern.

Research

First of all, I researched what had been previously done for this event. The previous graphics communicated the message that the main objective of the event was to remember a departed friend and not collect money for charity. At this point I also did some benchmarking about trends in graphic design and social media.

Ideation and prototyping

First of all, in accordance with the organisers, I changed the name of the event from "Semplicemente Special" (simply special) which was found to be not catchy enough to "Something Special" which was catchier but still included the nickname of their loved friend, Special.

The symbol of the event, connected with their dear friend, was the butterfly. I obviously kept this symbol given its important meaning but I created a more modern version of it, using pastel color stains.

Design

Starting from this new logo, I created a poster that was modern and coherent with the new brand Identity, alongside different graphics for social media and new t-shirts for the staff members.

Value

This new brand Identity made the event more modern and aesthetically pleasing, reaching new audiences and contributingto the uccess of the event.
